Her decision to move was driven by two powerful reasons:

• To help finance the medication of her father

• To finally reunite with her family

Lovely’s entrepreneurial journey began with just $300 capital—a humble start that many aspiring entrepreneurs can relate to.

During the height of the pandemic, she began:

• Selling Tikoy, Kalamay, and Nilupak

• Posting in community group pages

• Offering delivery and meet-ups across the GTA With hard work and determination, she reinvested her earnings, adding $1,000 worth of products during Christmas season—a pivotal moment of growth. Her milestones speak volumes:

• October 2022 – Opened her first Filipino grocery store in Cambridge

• 2024 – Expanded to include dine-in services to better serve customers

• 2026 (upcoming) – Launching Lovely Mikaela’s Restaurant in Burlington
